# Steps
1. Restate the research question to ensure clarity.
2. Identify the independent variable(s), dependent variable(s), and any control variables.
3. Formulate the null hypothesis (H0): the default assumption of no effect or no relationship.
4. Formulate the alternative hypothesis (H1): the predicted effect or relationship.
5. If applicable, specify whether the hypothesis is directional or non-directional.
6. Generate 2-3 additional related hypotheses that could be explored.
7. Suggest the appropriate statistical test to evaluate each hypothesis.

# Output Format
For each hypothesis:
- **Variables:** IV, DV, controls
- **H0:** null hypothesis
- **H1:** alternative hypothesis
- **Direction:** one-tailed or two-tailed
- **Suggested Test:** appropriate statistical method
- **Rationale:** why this hypothesis is reasonable based on existing knowledge

# Notes
- Hypotheses must be falsifiable - if there's no way to disprove it, it's not a hypothesis.
- Be specific about the predicted direction and magnitude when possible.
- Ground each hypothesis in existing theory or literature.
